4. Mulching
Use wreathes, sawdust, rind mulch, grass clippings, and acid tripe for this purpose. Keep in mind that blueberry bushes has shallow roots, so you better use wreaths.
You need about 2-4 inches of wreathe. It will seal in the moisture, keep the bush safe from weeds, and give the plant organic matter. Do this every year. Remember, sawdust from cedar and redwood tree is not recommended.
5. Pruning
This step will make the fruit stronger, and you will munch on bigger fruits. Prune your blueberry bush regularly, so it bears its fruits easily.
Clip off the flowers to make the bush stronger.
Pruning tips:
- Clip off the growths at the bottom of the bush
- Clear the dead wood
- Remove the discolored branches
- Clear half of the wood
6. Fertilization
Organic fertilizers work best, preferably blood meal and cottonseed. Keep in mind that manures can damage the bush, so try to use other fertilizer.
