Save pounds at the same time as losing them with the latest copy-cat product from Aldi
Sliming World is a weight loss organization that is based in the UK. It provides programs that provide lifestyle weight management.
They’ve brought us an affordable hot tub and Jo Malone candle dupes.
And now, budget supermarket Aldi has launched its own copy-cat range of Slimming World- style meals.
Their new Slim Free range looks just like the hugely popular Slimming World brand frozen meals available at rival store Iceland.
The frozen healthy ready meals are already on Aldi shelves across the country, and just like Iceland’s range, can be cooked in either the oven or the microwave.
There’s no word on whether they’re British made or not, but according to Aldi, they have taken inspiration from “pancontinental flavours” and packing their meals “full of lean meat, pasta, pulses or vegetables” to keep the calories down and the nutrition up.
Coming in at £1.99 the Aldi dupes are a third cheaper than the official Slimming World version.
And not only are they light on the wallet, they are light on calories too. While Iceland’s £3 Chicken Tikka Masala is 405 calories for 550g, Aldi’s £1.99 Slim Free version is just 371 for exactly the same amount.
Aldi’s chicken Saag also beats Iceland, with 322 calories for £1.99, rather than Iceland’s 395.
Julie Ashfield, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi, said: “Our Slim Free ready meal range is aimed at customers who enjoy healthy eating without compromising on taste or quality. At just £1.99 each, they offer excellent value.”
The Aldi range includes Pasta and Meatballs (521 calories), Chicken Tikka Masala (371 calories), Three Bean and Roasted Vegetable chilli (293 calories) Moroccan vegetable stew (155 calories) and Chicken Saag (322 calories).
